The single best accountability tool in commercial cleaning is a checklist both sides sign every night. Below is the core nightly route our crews run in New York offices — adapt it to your space and use it in your next vendor review.
Every Night
- All trash and recycling out; liners replaced; bins wiped if soiled
- Desk surfaces and reachable dust wiped (clear-desk policy permitting)
- Restrooms: fixtures disinfected, floor scrubbed at fixtures, restocked to 100%
- Pantry/kitchen: counters, sinks, appliance exteriors, microwave interiors, floor
- High-touch disinfection: door hardware, elevator buttons, railings, light switches
- Entrance glass spot-cleaned; lobby policed; mats straightened
- Floor care to spec: vacuum all traffic lanes; hard floors auto-scrubbed or damp-mopped
Weekly rotation (same sheet, marked)
- High and low dusting cycle (vents, sills, chair legs, behind doors)
- Baseboards and elevator cab detailing
- Conference room deep wipe (tables, chair arms, credenzas)
Monthly quality pass
- Ceiling corners and air diffusers, glass partitions full clean
- Restroom grout/detail pass; drain treatment
- Supervisor QC with photos to your account manager
Use It as an Audit
Print this and spot-check three items at random each week for a month. You'll know more about your current vendor's real coverage than a year of invoices can tell you. Want a checklist already tuned to your floor plan? Request a free walkthrough — we'll mark one up for your space.
